Adobe Photoshop is a very popular peice of software within the graphics design field. Adobe Creative are the publishers of this software and have created the newest version of Adobe Photoshop Cs6. This version has a lot of new features in comparison to older versions of the software such as Adobe Photoshop Cs5. Adobe photoshop saves files in a .PSD format however it is possable to save the final image to a different image format such as .JPEG. Adobe Photoshop works very well with devices such as a graphics tablet. This software has many advanced features that can be useful for a person within the digital graphics field such as adding filters, etc.
I am going to tell you about some of the features on Adobe Photoshop and explain to you how to use them.
Freehand draw
The freehand draw tool on Adobe Photoshop allows the user to draw freehandedly on an image. You can draw freehanded using the brush or the pencil tool. If you are using a brush to draw freehanded their are many types of brushes available and you even have the option to download brushes online. Freehanded draw works well in correlation with a graphics tablet allowing the user to use a pencil instead of the mouse. To use one of these
Rotate
Adobe Photoshop has a useful tool called rotate. It allows the user to rotate an image and text. It even allows you to select a part of an image and rotate it. You can rotate the image up to a full 360° turn.
Flip
Adobe Photoshop's flip tool is a tool that allows the user to flip the selected image or shape to either vertically or horizontally. The flip tool shows the image/ shape selected in a mirrored view.
Crop
Adobe Photoshop's crop tool allows you to cut images out so you only have the part of the image that you want. You can crop an image in a square or rectangular shape. Or a more advanced and accurate way to crop an image is cropping it using the free handed crop tool which allows you to crop the image free handedly.
Resize
Adobe Photoshop has a tool called resize. It allows you to resize an image to your desired size, you can make the image either larger or smaller.
Soften
One of Adobe Photoshop's special effects tool is the soften tool. The soften tool allows you to ajust the pixel selection to blur image areas.
Sharpen
The sharpen tool on Adobe Photoshop is a tool that is used to make the image look sharper by increasing the contrast to the area you apply the brush.
Invert
The invert tool is a tool that is available in Adobe Photoshop. Once invert is applied it will make the bright colours dark and it will make the dark colours bright.
Sumo Paint
Sumo Paint is an online image editor. It is free to use however if you want you can buy the professional version. It is flash based and is compatable with all browsers that support flash. Sumo Paint is very simular to Adobe Photoshop. They are both quite simular in terms of layout and have nearly all the same features. Sumo paint allows you to save files in many different file formats from .Jpeg to .PNG or Sumo Paints own file format .sumo.
Paint bucket tool
Sumo Paint has a tool called paint bucket. It allows you to fill in an area of pixels that are the same colour with your selected colour. This is useful as you dont need to fill in each pixel which would take a long time.
Text tool
The text tool allows the user to add text to the image. The user can choose the font type, the font colour and the font size. You can also rotate the text and move it across the image.
Brush tool
The line tool allows you to draw on the image using a virtual brush. It allows you to choose the brush shape. Their is a wide selection to choose from. You can choose from a simple dry brush to wing wang. You can choose the diameter, the blend mode, the optimacy and the flow.
Line tool
The line tool allows you to draw lines on the image. It allows you to choose the file shape. Round, square and narrow. You can choose the opacity, the line diameter, the flow and the blend mode.
Move tool
Once you have selected an area of an image on Sumo Paint you can use the move tool to move the selected area anywhere on the image.
